Simplifying complex ideas

Technology can be complicated and difficult to explain. Animated videos help simplify the most complex technologies, making them easy to understand. We use illustration to distill concepts, interfaces, hardware, and processes into simple steps and ideas. With a short narrative structure, explainer videos quickly and effectively tell the story of your product or service.

Google

We made a series of 50 fun and engaging videos to show how different Google products work. With a mix of storytelling and instruction, these animations were used in Google’s help center to teach people how to use services like Drive, Hangouts, Play, Chrome, Maps, ChromeBooks, Location Sharing, Blogger, Safety and many more. The videos were designed to be localized for Google’s global audience.

Google Shopping

This series of three videos was produced for merchants who use Google Shopping in the EU. Each one helps show how to get products to appear at the top of the search results for the right customers.

TowerChat

A communication platform for office buildings, TowerChat works like NextDoor but in the workplace. Users can coordinate carpools, social and networking events, and even sales of office furniture and supplies. This video was made to demonstrate the platform’s potential and generate investment opportunities.

Hamilton: Technical animations

Hamilton is a manufacturer of high-tech lab equipment and robotics. They called on Fluent Studios to animate four hardware training videos. The lessons were designed to teach lab technicians how to perform maintenance on Hamilton’s mini liquid handler, the Microlab Prep. With easy-to-read technical illustrations and step-by-step walk throughs, these animations go beyond a printed manual to make a complicated task accessible.

Hamilton: Product explainer

In addition to a series of technical hardware animations, Hamilton hired us to create a lighthearted explainer video, describing how their laboratory equipment can be used to replace manual pipetting in small labs across the world.

23andMe: Genetics 101

When 23andMe first launched their company, we teamed up with illustrator/producer Ariana Killoran to create four lighthearted videos teaching the basics of genetic science. The series is featured on Khan Academy, received a medal from the Genetic Alliance, and is still used in thousands of classrooms across the country.

Current_ TV

Current_ TV launched as a user-generated content channel featuring short videos made by viewers. To get quality user-generated content required teaching non-filmmakers the basics of shooting and editing video. This five-part instructional series walked hopeful contributors through the basics needed to get their video on air: Camera, Light, Mic, Tripods and Editing.
